Background information

Management Centre Europe, MCE, is the leading provider in Europe, Middle East and Africa of strategy implementation programmes for Fortune 500 companies. Its aim is to help executives, senior and middle managers to build the necessary capabilities to deliver on strategic goals.

For this MCE offers a range of services such as consulting, tailored programmes for teams of managers, open enrolment workshops for individual managers plus executive coaching and mentoring services.

MCE offers these services tailored to the needs of different industries: paramaceuticals, medical technology, chemicals, banking, telecom, power utilities, oil and gas , metals and mining, B2B markets, B2C consumer markets. MCE programmes and services are always delivered by associates who have major experience as an ex-senior manager within those industries and not by academics.


The old MCE web platform was not enabled to manage a lot of information and content in a flexible way. It was not integrated with the MCE Salesforce CRM system and it did not allow multiple users to manage content.

MCE took a strategic decision to develop a new platform. They selected Ektron as the CMS and part of their overall IT architecture.

From there, the MCE marketing department (which is the owner of the website as an instrument for communication), developed the business requirements for the new website.
The main objectives MCE wanted to achieve were:

  • A clear, understandable and easy to access information structure.
  • An improved customer experience
  • Being able to have different people managing content
  • A better integration with social networks and e-marketing in general
  • Also to have more personalisation of content for different audiences.

Solution approach

ABSI carried out the technical development, project management, integration with the MCE Salesforce system and testing of the solution. MCE also contracted a design company and a hosting provider and we collaborated with these to deliver the project.

MCE wanted to offer their website visitors an experience aligned with their needs. This was achieved via content personalisation. It means getting the appropriate content, to the audience at the appropriate time. Ektron allowed us to provide that to MCE and to streamline provision of relevant content.

We used the Ektron targeted content widget so that MCE can change homepage banners and deliver a more user-centric, targeted experience.


We achieved the final result which met the needs of MCE with no over-run on budget.
